Light at the End of the Tunnel
I’ve got three weeks to go before my job ends. I’m so excited about this because I’m looking forward to a solid block of time where I can concentrate on writing. I downloaded WordPress version 1.6 Sunday night and have tinkered with it a bit. So far I like what I’m seeing. The interface is still simple, but more graphical.
Yesterday, I started thinking about how I want to design my book. If I’m not neck deep in the kids’ homework, I’ll look over my outline again and see what needs to be changed. Tonight is slated for testing.

It’d be great to have a block of free time and your book sounds interesting.

Thanks, Lee. It’s taken me quite a while to write this story, which is on its seventh rewrite. I feel like I’m getting closer to the finish line.

7th rewrite. That’s a awful lot. 3 is my max, anymore and I get bored with the story and never look at it again. How do you keep the momentum?

I’m a very stubborn person. Also, I love the characters that I’ve created. Thinking them around different situations always entertains me.
As little as a year ago, I was embarrassed to admit that it’s taken me so long to write a story. Then I read an article about how Earnest Hemmingway rewrote A Farewell to Arms 49 times before it felt right.
Although if I have to write this story more than ten times, I just may set it aside for better ideas.
