Lost - Terminably Frustrating
How many of you watch this show, and what do you think about it so far? Are you as frustrated with the flashbacks that take up the majority of the show? The first episode of this season was all about Jack and how he performed a miraculous surgery on a woman named Sarah (who turned out to be his ex-wife). The second show was all about Walt and his heartbreak of losing his son.
While all of these flashback provide rich detail about the characters and what brought them to the place where they are now, I feel that these flashbacks are causing the plot to drag. I’m getting to the point where I’m losing interest in the show.
Tonight’s episode is supposed to bring Walt and Sawyer back to the island where they are attacked by the “others.” If this episode is inundated with flashbacks again, I may stop watching it. I no longer care about where these people came from, but how they are going to survive this island.

During the first series, I was beginning to get like you. It was terribly frustrating, but I found the “thing” even more frustrating. How long are they going to keep that secret? And…it would go weeks without a mention of it and then…whammo, here it is again. Feels like a plot hole to me.
Series 2 won’t be in Australia until next year. I guess I will have forgotten my frustration by then and continue watching it.

I won’t spoil things by telling you what’s going on, then. But I will say that they’re keeping up with the same routine. What really frustrates me is why I continue to watch it, lol.

So, Deborah, what was the verdict? I’m curious.

The survival aspect of the plot keeps reeling me in. This week’s episode had a Twilight Zone/Outer Limits aspect to it. I wish they were showing it in Australia so I can discuss it with you. Do you know when the second season is going to air on your network?

No, but I know it won’t be until at least February/March 2006, which is a real pain because the season will be over for you (most likely).
