Ribbonize America!
These ribbons are about as useless as those stupid yellow diamond things that said, “Baby On Board.” But it just goes to show that people will buy anything to “fit in.” The Bay Area is rife with yellow and patriotic magnet ribbons, with the occasional pink just to take away the monotony.
But people, we need more color. So, please, if you really must be a follower in this stupid ribbon craze, might I suggest you visit this site, where you can get your very own customized ribbon in a wide varay of colors, patterns, and sports themes. Sorry, Soccer Moms, you’re screwed.

I remember seeing all the ribbons when I was last in the US.
But this is hilarious.

I wrote a piece once on this same topic, but from the rubber wristband angle.
People are sheep.

This is hilarious. when I first saw ‘Ribbonize America’ show up in the rss reader, I rolled my eyes and ignored it, thinking, Come on Deborah! Now that I’ve read it I see you think the same as me. When we went to Hawaii earlier this year we saw all those yellow ribbons everywhere (many cars had more than one) and it took a while for us to understand what they were.

Hi, Lee!
I heard that China is making a lot of money off these ribbons. So much for American patriotism.

lol!
Now that is funny.

I went to a dollar store this morning and found some of those stupid ribbon magnets. Sure enough! Made in China. Damn the stupidity of my fellow Americans.

Yep. An many are sold at Wal-Mart, the store that loves to go on about how it’s doing great things for Americans–lots of low paying, crap jobs.
My contention with the ribbons and related car decor, is that it is empty sentiment. Support the troops? What does that mean? Breast cancer awareness? Really now, I think even Osama in his cave is aware of breast cancer. Probably sends his wives in for their yearly checks.

My thoughts, exactly! The sales from these things do nothing but stuff the pockets of greedy corporations like Wal-Mart. I’ve only shopped there once and wasn’t impressed with their merchandise.
