I was talking to my husband about this last night. So far, I haven’t gotten used to my new office. In the old house, the office was the first room down the hall, buffered by two walls and a kitchen. The family room (where the main activity was) was just beyond that.

My new office sits in the middle of the house, has two flimsy doors that open wide, and almost no hallway wall to buffer the sounds coming from the family room, which is on the other side.

Plus, I’ve gotten so used to smoking at my computer that typing and smoking have become a hand-in-hand thing. The pen is now taking the place of the cigarette, which is a good thing.

Longhand, huh? That’s cool.

Although, I’ve been writing (fiction and nonfiction) for so long on the computer, I find that I think faster than my handwriting.

And, my writing is illegible.

Writing the old-fashioned way works for me too.
I love my pads of paper and fountain pens!
