Day 5: Just Under a Thousand Today
I accomplished two things today: finishing Chapter One and designing the home page for my husband’s website. Without going into great, boring detail, it looks as if I’m going to have to hand-code his site. Looking on the bright side, this will give me some much-needed experience in webdesign.
As for my writing, I’ll continue with it after dinner and a good soak in the hottub. I’ll see what the rest of the evening will produce. Then tomorrow, I will push everything HTML and CMS-related aside and plow into this story. Tomorrow is my day.

I’m excited that I’ve started my own novel, or series of stories. I did over 1,100 words today, and while I know I won’t do that every day, I hope to.
Thanks to you for being one of those who inspired me to start ‘real’ writing, instead of procrastinating.

That’s great, Alan! 1,100 words per day is a good goal to have. You may not reach that every day, but some days you’ll find yourself making up for lost time. Best of luck!

You’re doing well, Deborah. Keep up the good work, and I hope your husband appreciates the time you put into his website (especially since it is November and NaNo is calling).
Alan, that’s great news. I hope to read about it on your blog.

Good luck with building the web site.
About NaNo…
You’re doing better than me if that’s any comfort. In fact, as long as you’re consistent, that’s the main thing, no?

Thanks, Karen!
He’ll appreciate it if and when it produces more business. That’s just his way.

Thanks, Melly!
I’ve earned a whole new appreciation for website designers over the past year.
Regarding NaNo: Having a basic storyline really helps. As for being consistent, I tend to wax and wane with that. I’ll be pleased if I pass last year’s wordcount of 14K.
