Assuming I ever finish my NaNovel, then yes, I would like to try and publish it. But first thing's first. I'd like to finish it first :)

I enjoyed the first chapter, Chris, and look forward to reading your story once this contest ends. As for the inconsistencies creeping in, that's normal. The only way to get to the goal is to move forward. That's what tripped me up last year: my habit of going over and editing everything I'd written. I'm not doing that this year and am better for it.

I haven't decided what I'm going to do with mine. First, I'll have to check with the copyright laws regarding fan fiction. Hyperion has published one Lost book and is set to publish another soon.

I hadn't planned to post my NaNo project when I began--maybe a couple chapters, but I've worked the idea of the Open Access Initiative into the plot, and, since this is what my protagonist is fighting for, it just wouldn't be right to withhold it. I think the big question is when. I have the first 9 chapters posted on my blog in PDF right now, but something happened on the 15th, the competitor in me kicked in, and told me to write, don't look back--and you damn well better not post anymore, "you're slowing us down." I have two storylines that I'm not sure I want to complete or cut. I know a bunch of inconsistencies have crept in, but they'll just have to wait for December or January. After editing, I'll probably post the whole thing with a Creative Commons license.
