Battlestar Galactica
How many of you watch this show? My husband and I have become loyal fans since its first episode in December ‘03. The funny thing was, we didn’t think we were going to like it. Remakes of an original show usually flop, but this one didn’t.
The past two episodes have been real humdingers. If you don’t want to know what happened last night, stop reading because I’m going to give a recap.
Last night’s episode begins with President Laura in the process of dying. This came as no surprise, since we knew that she was very sick from the beginning. The episode starts with her flashing back to when she was in Caprica, trying to calm the riots between the students and the school board.
During these flashbacks, we catch glimpses of Baltar kissing the blond cylon off in the distance. Once I see these shots, I wonder if she’s going to get the chance to tell Adama before dies. When she does regain consciousness, she instructs Adama to terminate Sharon’s pregancy on the basis that it would be very dangerous for the human race, or something on those terms.
The good doctor agrees, stating that there is an anomaly in the baby’s blood. Baltar tries to refute the doctor’s findings and loses. Adama trusts the president and therefore is going to carry out her wish. Sharon puts up a huge fight and is quickly overtaken by the guards.
In the meantime, Baltar tries to suck face with the abused blond cylon (who murdered Admiral Kane and who he helped escape) and succeeds in getting his butt kicked. His loyalty swings back to the human race, and he makes the discovery that ultimately saves the president’s life.
I’m thinking that this is a very good thing because I’ve always known this guy would destroy the human race in order to get some female action. After he saves the president’s life, he returns to his lab in the company of his imaginary lover. He opens a letter that the president had written to him to read in the event of her death.
Basically, the letter pleads with him to change his selfish ways and consider the needs of the people before himself. Being the egotistical megalomaniac that he is, he hand delivers the nuclear warhead to the abused cylon.
The president doesn’t realize her mistake in not ratting him out when she had the chance. Will the cylons finally get the upper hand, or will Adama and Starbuck save the day? Stay tuned.

I didn’t continue reading ’cause we get the show here a week later I think. Actually, what season are you? The’re showing here the beginning of season 2.
I love the show but I missed most of season 1 because I was sure they were showing re-runs of the original Galactica. I’m so smart…

Yeah, I didn’t want to ruin it for those who are behind due to whatever reason. You can get the first season on DVD, if you’d like to catch up.
I’m almost in the middle of Season 2, I think. The plot keeps getting better and better.
