Playing Around with the WP Image Feature
WP 2.0’s image feature is going to take some getting used to. If any of you use IE for your browser and stopped by WBA over the weekend, you would have seen that the image broke the site. It’s since been fixed, and I’ve learned a valuable lesson. Test the site in every browser. Ugh, what a pain!
The image uploading interface produces very small thumbnails, so I tried to resize it a little via the WYSIWYG. The image blurred until it was unreadable. Out of all the features of the latest version of WordPress, this is my least favorite.

By the strangest fate I sent you a despairing email about an hour ago which is very similar to this post. I don’t know what Matt and the others are playing at, but the old IImage plugin on 1.5 was so much easier to use and more stable than the system they have now. Any fixing of this bug will probably not be reflected in sites already set up under Fantastico. So they will be image-deficient for the rest of their lives. Baaah!

I’ll check my email, John. I agree that they really botched the image feature with this version. If I can find a way to fix it, I will post a tutorial. In the meantime, I’ve kept 1.5 for my blog on Scratchboard Art, since I will rely heavily on the image feature.

Yep, I’m going to stick with 1.5 for my others. Of course, there may be a good plugin on the way for 2.0. Let’s hope so.

I’m keeping my fingers crossed because aside from the image issue, I like 2.0 better than 1.5.
