I preordered this book from Amazon on Saturday and am looking forward to its arrival. Although Dean Koontz introduced me to horror with his novel Whispers, Stephen King has made me a fan of horror.
According to Publisher’s Weekly, The Cell promises to be King’s goriest and most heart-stopping work. See what Amazon and Publisher’s Weekly have to say about it.

WP 2.0’s image feature is going to take some getting used to. If any of you use IE for your browser and stopped by WBA over the weekend, you would have seen that the image broke the site. It’s since been fixed, and I’ve learned a valuable lesson. Test the site in every browser. Ugh, what a pain!
The image uploading interface produces very small thumbnails, so I tried to resize it a little via the WYSIWYG. The image blurred until it was unreadable. Out of all the features of the latest version of WordPress, this is my least favorite.

Have any of you tried to access this blog and found that it wouldn’t connect? I’ve been having this problem since yesterday and have since submitted a support ticket.

Fear is a healthy emotion, alterting us to dangers that could possibly take our lives. Anxiety, on the other hand, is a crippling affliction that can keep you from achieving the goals you want to accomplish in your life. I’ve uploaded an excerpt from The Big Moo: Stop Stop Trying to Be Perfect and Start Being Remarkable, by Seth Godin.
Just this morning, I read his book Who’s There from cover to cover. This guy’s writing style is conversational as he gives great tips about blogging. You’ll find that book in the Free Books & Excerpts page on WBA.
In the meantime, feel free to download the .pdf below. At two pages, it’s a very short read, which might help you if you’re experiencing writers block.
Fear Vs. Anxiety

A wandering spirit caring for a multitude of just concerns, you are an instrumental power in many of the causes around you. And so am I, very dangerous: more dangerous than anything you will ever meet, unless you are brought alive before the seat of the Dark Lord. Gandalf is a character from the Middle-Earth universe. TheOneRing.net has a description of him.
Thanks for the link, Melly!

How many of you watch this show? My husband and I have become loyal fans since its first episode in December ‘03. The funny thing was, we didn’t think we were going to like it. Remakes of an original show usually flop, but this one didn’t.
The past two episodes have been real humdingers. If you don’t want to know what happened last night, stop reading because I’m going to give a recap.

I discovered Hindsights when I clicked onto my WP Dashboard earlier this evening. It is a graduation commencement speech, given by Guy Kawasaki, who gives advice to students based on his own experience. Although this speech was addressed to the young, the not-so-young can also glean something from his wisdom.
Enjoy!

Four Jobs You’ve Had In Your Life
1. Secretary for SECON: This was a government contracting agency who sent engineers to work on projects at Lockheed, TWA, ESL, etc. I learned a lot about government security clearances and how frustrating it was to get an employee cleared so he could go to work. Not only that, but I learned how to edit job proposals and resumes.
2. Admin Support at Quantum: I worked as a temp in the Account Management department, editing their monthly sales forecasts and job proposals. Working in Marketing was a lot of fun.
3. Police Data Specialist I at the San Jose Police Department: My main job was culling data from various databases on criminals for officers.
Before I started working for this agency, I had established the Prosperity Sheriff’s Department as an ineffectual department with a lot of in-fighting and politics galore. Once I started working for the PD, it occurred to me that I was right on the mark, especially where the clerical pool is concerned.
4. Inventory Clerk/Office Coordinator at HISI: I started out doing inventory, which sent me down to the LA area for most of two months. The highlight was going to Phoenix to inventory a brand new hospital. They were so new that many of the rooms still weren’t finished and had boxes lying around.
We finished the job in record time, which meant that we got to go sight see. I wanted to go to Flagstaff, but it was too far away for the driver. So we drove out to Wickenburg, which is in the general vicinity of where Prosperity would be. I didn’t explain this to my crew, who would think I was nuts. Instead, I sat in the front passenger seat and took in the scenery, which wasn’t too far off from what I’d envisioned.
The town of Wickenburg is more advanced than Prosperity, which doesn’t even have a stoplight because it’s so small.
Four Movies You Could Watch Over And Over
1) The Stand: I watched this in one sitting on Monday.
2) The Shining: Jack Nicholson was brilliant in this classic.
3) Tommy Boy: I enjoyed watching Chris Farley and David Spade duke it out.
4) Hope Floats: I like the occasional chick flick. The eccentric grandmother added spice to this movie.

If any of you are interested in participating, consider yourself tagged. Yes, this is half-assed, but I don’t have enough caffeine in my system yet in order to think clearly.

I’ve done nothing with Prosperity this week. Amanda is suspended in time with the malicious ghost of Kenyon O’Flannery, who has just begun to torment her. I’m hoping to get some more done this weekend, barring any emergencies with WBA.
Everything is running smoothly with that. Finally! Now, I’m trying to think of some worthwhile topics to write about for that site. I have a couple of ideas, but I’m not sure if I want to write them here or there.
