Dubya’s Getting Soft in the Head
I supported Bush’s decision on the war initially and was tolerant of his handling of domestic issues (i.e., unemployment). But I thought this was one of the stupidest moves of his entire presidency. Why in the hell would he think we would support his decision to allow Arab companies to run six of our ports.
Here, I thought it was just one. But no, it’s six. Can anybody spell K-A-B-O-O-M? I’m hoping that the guy in the article below will be able to stop this idiocy ASAP.

I’m in PA which is one of the ports that will be run by this company. Yikes!
Now I understand that there is a tape of Bush being warned that Katrina could destroy the levees in New Orleans. How many years do we have left with this guy?

I find it amusing that BushCo propoganda machine spent the last couple of years telling Six-Pack Bubba that all Muslims are bad and now, is surprised by the hue and outcry from the common man, as it were. Given that some of the 911 terrorists hailed from the UE (none from Iraq, I might add), the reaction of most Americans isn’t too surprising

No, it isn’t, Pat. Maybe the Arabs offered him a sweet deal. I’m waiting for him to sell us out (if he hasn’t already), just like Clinton (who set the stage for 911).

Scot wrote a good argument. Still, I don’t like the idea of Bush selling our ports to any country, especially to the Arabs. I hope he’s right in that the media is blowing this out of proportion, as they like to do.

Actually it’s not Bush selling the ports. The owner of the ports was P&O, an old British company that actually developed most of the world’s big ports back in the days of the British Empire.
Americans felt comfortable with this ownership. Then the current useless Government we’ve got in Britain decided to allow the sale to a Dubai company. If the American Government were to block it, they would probably have to buy the ports themselves.
P&O is the last maritime element left from when Britannia ruled the waves — Cunard has been sold to the Danes — so a lot of us are not happy about this crass move either.

I just heard about that yesterday and was quite surprised about it. I hope Bush will buy back those ports.
