Absolute Write Recovering from a Coup Attempt
I’ve spent the last hour or so reading about the attack on Absolute Write, starting from Melly’s blog to Making Light. What started out as a blast against Barbara Bauer, ended with Stephanie Cordray, who was instrumental in pulling AW down before launching her own writer’s website, Writing Wise.
People caught on real quick to what happened and blasted her at her personal blog. Her reputation went down in flames, and she may lose her job because of this horrendous publicity to her employer.
Fortunately, Absolute Write was able to back up their database after they were given an hour’s notice by Stephanie. Right now, they’re working on setting everything back to the way it was.

And I just talked about how we work better as a community the other day and how usually writers tend to help each other and this.
Some people… go figure.

There’s always one bad apple to contend with, I’m afraid. But look at all the people who rallied for Jenna Glatzer. That was awesome!

Yeah, the AW chat room was flying last night, trying to do what they can. The site’s back up, but not the forums.

I’ll bet it was. My god! Forums are a nightmare to build, so I imagine they’ll have it fully functional by tomorrow.

Most of he info I found on Making Light. it was very informative. Apparently the sight was pulled from one agents bitching and screaming. Barbara Bauer, I have heard of her before.
