Super Bowl 2007
I have absolutely zero interest in football, and neither do the majority of my friends. That doesn’t stop us from getting together every year for the Super Bowl. Compared to last year, we were very subdued. The young boys migrated to the back room of our friends’ house to play video games. I don’t know what the girls did. Most of the adults were recovering from a crab feed we went to last night.
Is it just me, or did the commercials suck this year? The only one I considered funny was the CareerBuilder.com commercial where they toiled away in a jungle. As an office worker, I can totally feel their pain.
Oh, and I just loved the half-time performance by Prince. That pretty boy is almost as plastic as Michael Jackson. Yikes!
Congratulations to all you Colts fans out there. ![]()

I think the commercials for the last four or five years have been in steady decline. They’re just so little creativity out there these days, and most of the commercials look like ideas concocted by a bunch of guys getting drunk in a college dormitory somewhere - it’s humor that’s only funny when one’s mental faculties aren’t functioning at 100%. Pity.
And it’s lovely to be in a Super Bowl city for once. It was actually kind of weird to watch the Bowl this year and care about it because I wanted to see people I know do well. Sloppy, sloppy first half, but I’m glad the Colts pulled themselves together in the long-run to keep the Bears in their place.

Well said about the commercials, Jim. And congratulations on having a winning team.
I hope they continue to enjoy success.

I have zero interest in football too. I’d rather watch a good movie. Prince is one strange cat. I’ve heard some really bizzare stories about him. He hired director Kevin Smith (Clerks) to film a documentary. When smith arrived at Prince’s compound, he found out that the documentary was a recruiting film for the Jehovah’s Witnesses.

You’re very quiet, Deborah. I hope all is well with you and that the quietness is because you’re writing.

Hi, Karen! Thanks for checking up on me. I hope things are going well for you, too.
