Ghostwriting and freelance editing is hard enough--I don't need a middleman telling me what my time is worth. To me, Elance, etc. isn't not much better than the big ghostwriting companies, which charge huge fees but subcontract the work out to independents even though the client thinks the ghost is a "company writer." Very deceptive. And the company pays the ghostwriter very little. I was contacted by Elance, but I took a pass.
