Ghost of Sorrow
I was browsing iTunes this weekend when I accidentally stumbled upon J.R. Richards’ new solo album, A Beautiful End while looking at other albums and songs. Richards was the lead singer of Dishwalla, a band that was popular back in the mid ’90s. Their hit song, Counting Blue Cars, still remains one of my favorites all these years later.
This album is completely different from Pet Your Friends. Richards’ songs are mellow and haunting, and the theme of this album is about death and the afterlife, perfect mood music for the kinds of stories I write. Ghost of Sorrow is one of my favorite songs on this album because of the strength of Richards’ voice. Have a listen and tell me what you think.
