Sometime around noon today, I surpassed the 50K mark for this year’s National Novel Writer’s Month contest. Even though I had written out a detailed outline the month before, I had reservations about finishing this thing before the end of the month. I’m nowhere near finished with this story yet, but I’m relieved that the contest is over. I had a lot of fun and hope to work this into a sellable book next year.

Woot! @prosperitygal
Congratulations! That’s excellent news. Give yourself a pat on the back and then go and relax with some well earned chocolates.
Thanks, Michele!
I agree. Documenting our milestones not only enables us to look back at the things we’ve achieved, but it can be an inspiration to others.
Hi, Karen! You reminded me of the turkey-shaped chocolates my mother-in-law brought us. Having one right now.
Congratulations Deborah! That’s quite an effort to get that much out in a month and it’ll put you in a good position to finish the novel. I only hope I can attain half your pace.
Thanks, Ben!
Keep plugging away. It took me a long time to write Prosperity. I’m hopeful it won’t take as long to write this novel.
Coolbeans, Deb.
I can’t even begin to comprehend that many words.
Maybe that’s my problem these days . . .
Congrats.

They all add up quicker than you can imagine. My highest word count (outside of NaNo) was 91K. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen that number.
