Writing Progress: Shades of Evil

The rewrite is going very well so far. I’ve just finished the second chapter and plan on starting the third sometime this week. So far, I’ve established (re-established, if you read Prosperity) that Amanda is clairvoyant and that people often get squeamish over the subject, depending upon their religious beliefs. I’ve also established what she and Travis have done since they fled Prosperity.

On Saturday, I finished the basic mind map of Randy Lorenz. He is the antagonist of the story and the main reason why I scrapped the first draft. His actions didn’t make much sense because I didn’t have a firm grasp on him. I’ll be delving into his character more this week while I’m working on Chapter 3, where Amanda and Travis meet her half-brother for the first time and settle into Palm Springs. Randy will meet Amanda in Chapter 4.
